Why Acupuncture

Originating in the East, Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine are now commonplace in the East and West, treating varied ailments.  Acupuncture is well-known for treating pain, inflammation, and physical trauma.  However, it can also help alleviate many other physical and emotional conditions such as:

  • Anxiety and stress

  • Depression

  • Digestive disorders

  • Insomnia

  • Weight gain

  • Fatigue

  • Allergies

  • Common cold, Cough, Flu

  • Hypertension

  • Autoimmune diseases

  • Skin conditions

When disposable acupuncture needles are used on specific acupuncture points, they send stimulus to parts of the brain that affects the nervous system.  Thus, certain chemicals are released in the brain to help re-establish and maintain proper balance in the body, mind, and spirit.

Regular acupuncture treatments weekly or bi-monthly, in combination with proper diet, nutrition, and herbal protocols  will encourage faster recovery.

Cupping

In many incidences, before the acupuncture treatment begins, specifically designed suction cups are placed on various parts of the body for a relatively short amount of time.  Cupping assists in relaxing muscles,  encourages blood flow and can help to sedate an over-stimulated nervous system by opening up the meridians (the energy highways ) where these is Qi (energy) stagnation.

In itself, it can help to alleviate pain and inflammation in the back and neck regions and can be beneficial in the treatment of headaches, body aches, fatigue, anxiety, and cellulite.
